If you run into a financial emergency during your studies, there are several places that offer quick support – on campus in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Wiesbaden, Rüsselsheim or through other foundations. During your search for the right solution, we would like to advice you at the Advising Centre►

Loans

Students who involuntary run into a financial emergency can receive a loan. During personal advising, more detailed clarification is provided.

Emergency funds

The emergency fund is used to support short-term students in need. The economic emergency must have not been caused by the student’s gross negligence against himself or herself. More information on funding opportunities can be found at the Advising Centre.

Refund of the RMV semester ticket

Students with low income can apply for a refund of the RMV semester ticket.

Students who are not entitled to BAföG may apply for rental subsidy, the so-called “housing subsidy”, at the Agency for Housing.

Advance maintenance payment

Single parents can receive compensation in accordance with the Law on Advance Maintenance Payment (UVG) in case of irregular child support payments.

Unemployment benefit II (ALGII)

Frankfurt Pass

People with low income and initial residency (from birth) in Frankfurt am Main can apply for the Frankfurt pass. This entitles you to various discounts such as low-priced VHS courses and discounted admission to municipal museums or local cinemas. Contact person is the social council of Frankfurt am Main.
